lost!!
was supposed to go to yarra bend park for training this morning.
didnt know where it was, so i looked it in an online map.
BUT!
i read the map scale wrong! (this is what happens when u get posted as an admin officer)
thought it was about 2km away...so i figured i could jog there instead of spending 2 bucks on a tram ticket. and after all, 2km would be a good warm-up for training.
BUT!
it ended up being about 6-7km away!!
when i got there i was so shag.....i told my coach i couldnt take part in the training, and instead took a very very slow jog back home.
oh, did i mention...
NO MORE ASSINGMENTS!!!!
ha.

and...i watched X3 yesterday!!!! it whoops ass! dunno if its as good as X2, but its better than MI:3 for sure. NOTE:if you're going to watch X3, when the credits roll at the end, DONT LEAVE THE THEATRE. stay till the credits are over. theres a 30 sec clip at the end thats really impt!!! you'll regret it if u miss it!

forever young...i want to be forever young
wednesday was the first anniversary of my 21st birthday.
(shhh! that means i'm 22)
didnt do much to whole day. wed was right smack in btw assignments, so most of my morning was spent trying to cough up words for my hist essay.
BUT! esther n the gals gave me a wonderful surprise in the evening!
they came over with a cake n nice indian food!!
thank gals! that was really wonderful...totally made my day!
today is friday. the LAST DAY OF THE SEMESTER!!!! WEEEHOOOOOOO!!
gonna hand in my last two assignments today!
once i chuck them into the assignment chute, thats it! no more crappy assignments!!
exams dont start till 6th june, so im gonna give myself a break and do NO studying over the weekend. ah...can catch up on some OC, LOST, ps2, running.....haha listen to me, i sound like my exams are over already.

yes, once again i have neglected my blogging for over a wk now.

I WAS TOO BUSY!
hahahahahaha.
this week has has been, and is shaping up to be, HELL WEEK. (ok la...so its not as bad as "hell week" that those crazy NDU ppl go thru...not being able to sleep for a week and having to crap their pants in training cos they can only go to the toilet once a day. at least i can take a crap as and when i like) But here's how my next couple of weeks is shaping up to be...
Today: Construction Tech 2A presentation
Thurs: Archi Design 2A presentation.
Friday: CT1A postcards submission (day), Melb Athletics Annual Ball (night)
Next Tues: Asian Archi folio submission (12 x watercolour drawings)
Next Thurs: Asian Archi Essay submission (1500 words...and ive only written 200 =p)
and finally......(the one and only good news)....
Next Friday: XMEN 3 OPENS!!!!!! woohooooohoooooo! perfect way to end the sch term.
sigh....but gotta get thru hell first.

great train race
I just got back from the Great Train Race!
It was very fun!....although the weather was terrible. I woke up at 6am and the sky was loooking very dark and ominous. By the time i left the apartment at 7, there was a slight drizzle...and by the time i got to uni it had become a larger drizzle. A few of us met at uni and carpooled to the race, which is somewhere in the dandenongs i believe. Its about 1hr away from the city, so its very suburban. Not to the extent of sheeps n farmstays, but its still a fair way out from the city.
When we got to the startline. the drizzle had developed into light rain. I had to put my warm jacket n tracksuit in a plastic bag and deposit it into a truck that would bring all the stuff to the endpoint. So there i was....in just my running singlet n shorts....in the 15 degree cold, with rain slowly but persistently soaking my clothes. I did some warm-up jogs which didnt serve to warm me up very much, then proceeded to the startline with a couple of friends.
At the stratline, while waiting for the race to be flagged off, it started POURING!! and everyone starting making lots of noise...not in the angry mob way, but in a fun-spirited way. it was great!! The rain continued thru the entire race, although it did subside as the race went on.
for the record, I BEAT THE TRAIN!! woohoooo. i didnt think that i could. I was telling myself in the beginning that i would just treat this as a fun run, cos the timing to beat seemed a little out of my reach. but as the race went on, i felt on form and decided to give it a try. In the end, the train did 54m50sec for 13.2km.....and i did 54m18sec. towards the end of the course, i was almost sprinting alongside the train to get to the finish line...and ppl in the train were cheering us on. it was great!
oh and on the way home, my friend's car started making weird noises and the engine temp was real high! so we pulled over and added water into the radiator, which then started spewing out steam!! haha...it was funny and scary at the same time, cos we were still very far from civilisation at the time.
i'm back home now of course...just woke up from a nap and gonna start working for the rest of the evening. had to wash n scrub all my running attire n shoes just now cos they were drenched in mud! the running course is part-tarred road, part-macritchie-like dirt terrain....so u can imagine after a downpour how muddy it got!

free comic book day
today, sat 6th may, is free comic book day all over the world! how this works is basically, on this day, anyone can go to a comic book store, and pic ONE comic book from a selected list, and its absolutely freeeeee!
i went down to the comics store at windsor with crystal, and we both each picked up a comic. then we came back to the city to another comic store to pick up another two comics. but she only reads archie, and since there were no archie comics available in the city store, she let me have her entitlement to one issue! woohooo! so i ended up with THREE free comics at the end of the day!

i am now officially on the committee of the Singapore Students Society!! hahahahaha.
they recently had the elections for the 2006/2007 committee, and i was running for the post of Activites Officer, which means that i (and two other activities officers) organise...erm.....activites for the SSS throughout the year.
its funny....when i was in OCS HQ, i was the Admin Officer for the weapons team, and hence my title was AO for short. now, its AO again! hahahahaha. i know...thats lame. but its very amusing to me...heh.

tired
ah...its friday night.
its raining...its dark...and its cold.
whoever said autumn was the most beautiful time to be in melbourne, was obviously mistaken.
so far, autumn has been nothing but wet streets, irritating drizzles that never seem to go away, piling assignments, and well...u get the picture.
ok...so its not so bad. at least its nice to run in this weather. much better than running in summer. but pretty soon its gonna get reeeaaaaaaally cold. hopefully by then i'll be back in sunny spore! yay!
was supposed to go out for dinner with esther, crystal n yen tonight...but it rained, and yen couldnt make it last min....so we had to cancel. ended up doing work at home instead, which wasnt too bad cos i have a butt load of assignmetns to finish by next week. spent 4 hrs tonight drafting while watching back to the future part 1 and 2. haha. borrowed the DVDs from crystal. these movies never get stale.
its 12am now but i dun feel sleepy yet. prob cos i slept in lecture today...hehe. ah...but it feels good to have done 4 hrs of work. maybe its just some psychological thing, but i wont feel guilty if i watch 2 hours of X-files now. my brain is telling me that ive earned it.

gloomy wednesday
wednesdays are the worst days of the week.
its mid week, and sch doesnt start till 3pm....so im left bumming in my apartment alone all morning, with little or no motivation to start studying.

oooo...lantern
just got my exam timetable today, and thank god....its GOOD!!
couldnt be much better really.
school ends on 27th may, and then theres one week of SWOT(studies without teaching) vacation for a week. The exam period is officially from 5-23 june....so if youre unlucky, u can get an exam on the last day!!!! and i was praying that this wouldnt happen to me cos im booked on a flight back to spore on 20th june!
ah....but luckily all is well.
my first paper is on 6th june (Asian Archi History) and my next two papers for construction technology are on 14th and 16th. that gives me more than one wk to study for each paper. sweeeeeeeeeet.
but from now till then, still have a lot of assignments to be done, and i've just about got off my butt and started doing them....cos time is running out!!!
one of the most stupid assignments is due this friday....im supposed to make a lantern. argh! like kindergarten!!!!! oh well, its better than writing an essay....
speaking of which, i havent started on my hist essay. but thats not due till 26th may, so i can still procrastinate without feeling too worried. heeeheee.
ah..ok.... lantern time....
