The atmosphere was amazing! We got there about half an hour before kick off, and the square was already totally packed!!! remember those images of a sea of red koreans in world cup 2002? yeah, it was exactly like that!!! there mustve been thousands of people there. luckily we managed to squeeze a bit here n there n get good places up the front. nobody was sitting down tho...everyone stood up thru the full match!!! felt sorry for esther cos i asked her to come along, and she had to stand the whole match. Thanks esther!
oh there was one japanese flag in the crowd...which was quite surprising...in the midst of hordes of screaming, and possibly drunk, australians. pity them...hope they didnt get bashed up. haha.
neways....what a match! down 1-0 till the 84th minute...then up stepped CAHILL!!!! 3 goals in the last 5 mins! DAAAAAAAAMMN!!!!!! everyone went crazy. there were even flares!!! like those that u see in LaLiga or Serie A matches. dunno if thats legal or not. oh well, the police didnt do anything. hahaa.
after the match, people were just going insane on the streets. traffic literally could not move cos there was a sea of people blocking the main intersection of the city. picture thousands of raving fans at the intersection of orchard n scotts road....and cars honking away as far as can be heard. thats what the atmosphere was like. damn i cant imagine what it must be like to be in germany!!! okok...new addition to "things to do b4 i die". gotta watch a world cup final match live.
got home at about 2am after sending esther home, and watched the USA vs czech republic match till about 3am. czech were leading at half time by 2-0, and we all know USA sucks too bad to come back from that, so i went to sleep. wouldve caught the italy matchat 4am, but i had to wake up early today to study. =(
exam is tomorrow. haha...yes exams are still going on amidst all this soccer. im quite worried actually. i dun feel as prepared as i was last sem. oh well.... we shall see. if its meant to be, its meant to be. hahaha. fate can be a good thing when it works to your convenience.
